Motorsport Magazine samples Penske power

What does 820bhp and 60-160mph in 7 seconds feel like? Renowned journalist Andrew Frankel reports on the “pulverising acceleration” of the PC-26 in this month’s (Feb 2010) issue of Motorsport Magazine.

Having spent a morning being briefed on the Penske’s control systems Andrew climbed aboard to sample the marques’ last race winning Indycar. Along with the superb build quality Andrew was very taken with the Ilmor designed Mercedes-Benz engine – “the noise elicits the flight reflex and in the last 2000rpm the Penske really lets rip”.

Accompanying Andrew’s words are some breathtaking photographs courtesy of Greg Pajo. We have put a few more photos from the shoot up here – we are sure you will agree they really are astounding.
