This sometimes neglected but essential aspect of rebuilding any car is something we at Dawn Treader pay special attention to. It is very easy to damage components by using improvised or inappropriate tooling often resulting in extra cost to the customer.
We believe in designing and producing the correct tooling to enable our customers to carry out that essential in the field repair without fear of causing further problems. In addition to items such as upright rebuild jigs and engine tooling we produce our own bespoke pit equipment including a combined water/oil preheat rig and remote starter kit.
When a car leaves our premises we want to ensure that our customers are properly equipped and our equipment covers any eventuality. Our remote starter battery pack for example comes equipped with a voltage inverter and waterproof 240V socket from which a laptop can be run. With period computers, often still fitted with period batteries, this can prove invaluable at events such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed where power on the start line is not available.
