Gearbox and drivetrain rebuild and servicing is always an essential part of race car maintenance. We believe in approaching gearbox rebuilds with a long term view in mind. It is often the case that magnesium gearbox casing corrode despite the original chromating process. At Dawn Treader we go to great lengths to protect against this using a simple coating procedure we have developed in house. In addition to long term corrosion protection the finish achieved is cosmetically superior to chromating.
Every gearbox we service is set up with exacting precision and great care is taken to ensure that ratio changes can be performed in the field with the minimum of difficulty.
Although largely we specialise in the more rare gearbox types we have serviced units from the Hewland range. Whatever the customers needs, they can be met.
